JBL won’t turn on or charge? It’s the most common fault
Three out of four JBL speakers brought to us have the same problem: they won’t turn on or won’t charge. The good news is that they can usually be repaired — no need to buy a new speaker.

What to check at home
Try a different cable and a different charger, and leave the speaker charging for at least half an hour. Check the charging port for dirt or moisture. If the speaker got wet, don’t charge it until it’s completely dry.
The most common causes
In our repair history the main board is the most frequent culprit, followed by the battery. Water damage and a broken charging port are also common. The speaker driver itself rarely fails.

What we do in the workshop
We take the speaker apart, check the board, battery and port, find the cause and tell you the price before the repair. If you have the repair done with us, the diagnosis is free; if you decline the repair, it costs €20. We give a 6-month warranty on labour and parts.

Tips
- Don’t leave your JBL fully discharged for long — it’s hard on the battery.
- After rain or a swim, let the speaker dry before charging it.
- Can’t come in? Send the speaker with a free Omniva label.
