3 signs your Dyson needs a technician
A Dyson vacuum usually warns you before it stops completely. There are three signs you shouldn’t ignore — and a few things you can check at home first.

1. Weak suction or the vacuum keeps stuttering
If your Dyson has weaker suction than before or keeps cutting out, clean the filter and the bin first and check the wand for blockages. If that doesn’t help, the cause is often the battery or the motor.

2. The brush bar won’t spin
Take the brush bar out and clear away hair and threads wrapped around it. If a clean brush bar still won’t turn, the problem is usually the motor in the cleaner head or its contacts — that’s a job for a technician.

3. A burnt smell
Switch the vacuum off straight away and don’t turn it on again. An overheated motor or electronics can smell like this. The photo shows a burnt-out Dyson circuit board from our workshop.

What we do in the workshop
We take the Dyson apart, find the cause and tell you the price before the repair. If you have the repair done with us, the diagnostic is free; if you decline the repair, it costs €20. A battery replacement takes about 5 minutes. We give a 6-month warranty on labour and parts, and 1 year on genuine Dyson parts.
