How to choose an iPhone case

Model first

A case is made for one specific model, and even neighbouring models differ. The iPhone 16 screen is 6.1 inches, the 16 Plus 6.7, the 16 Pro 6.3 and the 16 Pro Max 6.9. According to Apple, the iPhone 16 measures 147.6 × 71.6 × 7.8 mm and has a dual-camera system. The Pro models have a different camera block, so an iPhone 16 case will not fit an iPhone 16 Pro. You can see your model name under Settings → General → About. We have no iPhone 17 cases in the shop at the moment; they can be ordered, the delivery time is shown on the product page and we confirm it when you order. MagSafe

The iPhone 16 has a ring of magnets and MagSafe wireless charging up to 25 W with a suitable charger (according to Apple). A case marked MAG or MagSafe has its own magnet ring, and a charger, wallet or car mount snaps onto it. A plain case without the ring also protects the phone, but magnetic accessories may not hold on it. Every case in the list below has MagSafe. The animation at the top of the article shows how it works: there is a ring of magnets inside the iPhone, a MagSafe case has the same ring, and the charger snaps into the centre by itself.

Material and corners

A silicone case is soft and pleasant in the hand; according to the product description, the prio Liquid Silicone Case is silicone with a microfibre lining. A clear case leaves the phone’s colour visible. If your phone gets dropped a lot, look at the corners: the Mocco Anti Shock is a 1.5 mm TPU case with reinforced corners, and inside it has a rough layer so the case doesn’t stick to the phone. The case makes the phone slightly bigger, but MagSafe charging still works. This case is for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Screen protection

A case protects the body and the corners, and the screen is better protected separately. We have 3mk film: we cut it on a plotter and apply it in the workshop. Film does not crack the way glass does; according to some of our customers, it has stayed on the screen for more than a year. The types — Hammer, Privacy and Hardy — are covered in a separate article. If the screen is already cracked, we can repair it in the workshop.
